Lauren Taylor, DVM

Mission Statement

As a veterinarian, it is my mission to provide excellent care to my patients and advocate for the health of all animals. I want clients to have knowledge and transparency in their options so that together we can provide the best possible life for their pets.

Bio Statement

I like to joke that I grew up in a zoo. We had dogs, cats, horses, iguanas, parrots, and a tortoise. Growing up with lots of different animals and a veterinarian as a father, my passion for veterinary medicine began at a young age and only grew with time. Coming from an equestrian background, I started my career in veterinary medicine as a technician in the equine ICU and after receiving my DVM degree, became an equine veterinarian specialized in sports medicine. However, my love for all animals continued and so I decided to transition into small animal medicine.

I feel so lucky to be at a practice that not only provides excellent care to patients, but also cares deeply about our clients connection to our patients.

The Loves of My Life

My husband Alex and I have two very active dogs, Teddy and Memphis, as well as two bunnies, Chamomile and Bear. We love taking Teddy and Memphis on adventures and playing fetch with them on the beach. Memphis, an Australian Shepherd, went through veterinary school with me and as such was often used as a fairly willing test subject. As he has gotten older, he has become more reactive towards other dogs (or as I like to say, he is more particular about his friends) and has taught me how patience and kindness can affect training. As far as the bunnies go, Chamomile is a sassy girl who has a lot of opinions on where furniture should go and thinks electrical cables are tasty. Bear, on the other hand, is very fearful of the world but loves to be pet in return for treats.

Passions and Hobbies

I love being outside. Hiking, canyoneering, and basking in the sun are some of my favorite activities. I am also an avid equestrian and was previously competitive in jumpers. Now, just being around them and going on a trail ride is my idea of a perfect day.

I also love trying new restaurants, especially with friends in tow. Luckily, living in Portland, there is an endless number of places to try!
