Mission Statement

An essential part of my job as a veterinarian is to form a partnership with clients so that we create a united front when making decisions about the health and well-being of their pet.  You, as the client, are an essential member of your pet’s healthcare team, and I want to ensure that you understand the “why” and “how” when it comes to your pet’s healthcare. There is nothing on earth quite like the love of an animal – so pure, so constant, so unfailing. It is the honor of my life to play a small role in preserving and promoting that love between you and your pet.

Bio Statement

My journey to becoming a veterinarian is a long and circuitous one. I am an English major turned Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, and along the way, I have worked in every role within a veterinary hospital. But the most enduring theme of this chapter of my life – what inspired me to make the big leap from English literature to veterinary medicine – is the love of my dog, Elliott. It is a love that has allowed me to see the light in my darkest moments, a love that has allowed me to grow into the best version of myself. It is a love I see in each exam room into which I walk, between each owner and pet I am blessed to meet. Elliott is my “why” and so every day I walk into the clinic, I am motivated and inspired by love.

The Loves of My Life

My husband, John, and our pups Elliott and Lucy are the loves of my life. John and our pups are my everything, and I feel so overjoyed when I arrive home after a workday and am greeted by the dogs’ tail wags and licks and John’s hugs and kisses. My favorite moments in life involve John, Lucy, Elliott, and I all cuddled up on the couch with John and I smiling as we listen to the harmonious snoring of our happy, cozy pups. Does it get any better than that? Well, maybe if you add a cup of my famous hot cocoa to the picture.

Passions and Hobbies

Though it is contrary to the ways of the PNW, I am a lover of the indoors. I love being cozy and make that a goal in my daily life. I get so excited when I discover a new fun coffee shop and enjoy a delicious latte and a baked good. I dream about one day opening my own dog-friendly coffee shop and filling it with books, cozy sofas, fireplaces, and dog-friendly treats. I am also very passionate about dogs with short legs and long bods – particularly corgis. If there is a corgi in eyesight, I am drawn to it like a moth to a flame. I love most things British – British literature, British culture, the royals, Jane Austen, The Great British Baking Show, Downton Abbey, British history, traveling to England, and the list goes on. And finally, I love to laugh and prioritize reveling in the day’s light-hearted moments and finding the humor in each day.
